What this site is

VIN Decoder is a set of free calculators, served as static files, that compute arithmetic in your browser. You may use them for anything, including commercially, and no permission is needed.

Estimates, not advice

Every figure this site produces is an estimate for planning, and none of it is financial, legal, mechanical or safety advice. The loan calculator does not know your lender's fee schedule, your state's exact tax treatment, your insurance, your fuel or your maintenance. A quote from a lender governs over anything here, and a disagreement between the two means the lender is right.

The fitment warning, which matters more than the rest

A tire size calculator cannot tell you whether a tire fits. It reports geometry. Whether a wheel and tire clear the strut, the arch liner and the suspension through its full travel depends on offset, load rating, speed rating and the vehicle itself, none of which is contained in a size string. Fitting a size outside the vehicle manufacturer's specification can affect braking, stability control and the odometer, and can invalidate insurance. Confirm any change with the vehicle manufacturer's specification and a tire professional before you buy.

Accuracy

The arithmetic is exercised by an automated test suite against worked examples, including the cases that break naive implementations. It is still arithmetic on the values you entered: a wrong input produces a confidently wrong output, and the site cannot know which is which. If you find a figure that is wrong, please report it, and it will be fixed and published rather than argued about.

No warranty, and the limit of liability

This site is provided as it is, without warranty of any kind. To the extent the law allows, its operator is not liable for any loss arising from its use — including a purchase decision, a finance decision or a parts decision taken on the strength of a figure it produced.

Availability and changes

There is no uptime commitment. Pages, calculators and these terms may change; the current version is the one on this page. Nothing here creates an account or an ongoing relationship that could be terminated.
